DRESSING TABLE/CHEST STYLING.

Bedroom styling doesn’t have to be feminine and fluffy, keep it simple and practical. When collating the pieces you want to display remember to consider contrast, texture, shape and height. Mix these up, it’ll give the grouping more visual balance.

Mirror- Whether its wall hung, table top or freestanding a mirror is the best place to start. Pick one in the style that suits your room; minimal, overstated or antiqued …

Tray- Store your better looking perfumes & toiletries here, keep the ugly ones hidden in a draw or dispense them into amber glass bottles & put that label maker to use.

Boxes/Jars- Perfect for keeping cotton wool & q-tips handy. Go super stylish with all black or reusable bamboo.

Jewellery- Somewhere to store and display you favourite pieces, think of them as styling accessories themselves. This could be a conventional glass box, jewellery stand, a one off handcrafted ceramic bowl or shallow wooden dish.

Height- This is so important. In the image opposite I used artwork to give height to my display. Other good options are vases with foliage, jewellery stands or a table lamp. Note how the heights, finishes and shapes all vary in the grouping to the left.
