DECORATE YOUR DESK.
The once luxury home office has become a necessity for many in the last year. There’s no better time to focus on creating a sanctuary within your home than now.
Position-If possible try to position your desk close to or directly under a window, the vitamin D and fresh air will aid productivity. If you don’t have the luxury of being able to dedicate an entire room to a home office, be creative and think smart about where you can position your desk. Whilst both of us are working from home (in a rather small cottage) one desk is position on the landing + the other carefully and cleverly hidden away under the stairs. Think pocket doors, multi functional seating + lots of cable management.
Lighting- A key requirement for any study area. Choose one that’s easily adjustable.
Storage- Invest in some stylish storage solutions for your space. Whether its in-tray, display box, pen pot or tray these can all be used to organise your office supplies without things getting ugly.
Supplies- Fill the storage with these but go for quality over quantity, why not treat yourself to a set of brass tools or fancy notebook. Even something as simple as plain black/white pencils can really elevate a space.
Walls- Shelving and noticeboards are a great way of giving a room or area purpose. Display calendars, reminders or stack art and magazines to create an informal yet functional addition.
